Has anyone interfaced Freeswitch with any of the Grandstream ATAs? If so, are there any issues that a user needs to be aware of, prior to install? I have a customer who is installing Freeswitch with a Grandstream ATA and interfacing that to an Avaya PBX. Any heads up on potential issues would be greatly appreciated.

I personally gave up on grandstream ATA's long ago as they where
flakey and buggy at that time. I was trying to use the HT-488 as an
FXS and FXO which didn't work right.

I later found that even as an FXS only this ATA didn't perform reliably.

Just my 2c (US),
Marty

Did you ever identify an ATA that did work reliably?

I ended up using an Audiocodes MP114 for that install that has been
bullet proof although it wasn't "easy" to initially configure. I
also have a couple of other ATA's like the AG-168v (very cheap but
good), AG-188 (a newer version that I didn't like as much).

Yes the audiocodes hardware was much more expensive. Worth it? Totally.

I bought a grandstream GX4104 the web interface locked up constantly so much I couldn't even get it configured.

Now I'm trying to setup an audio codes 4 port FXO.

Marty could you share the configuration you came up with to get the Audiocodes working. Either add it to the wiki or send info on the list and I will add it to the wiki.

I'm building an open source GUI package for FreeSWITCH running on the pfSense firewall. In this environment a reliable external device would be ideal.

Best Regards,

Mark
