It’s only been out a couple of days - hard to make judgements just yet. But it is out of Beta so should be of reasonable quality - give it a try :)

Asterisk is open source software that is deployed in countless environments. It can be configured in a myriad of ways. The user and developer community does their best to test any new major version, but obviously cannot cover every possible scenario.
Whether or not a new version is suitable for your configuration, in your environment, is a decision you have to make.
