For the last couple of weeks, I noticed stun.freeswitch.org is no longer responding. I do verification weekly tests of freeswitch development and this is a big problem since the tests are mostly automated. Also, this is not a good thing for new users who follow the wiki to setup their first freeswitch.
I am not sure if this should be a problem report but does anyone else think if stun.freeswitch.org no longer responds shouldn’t the default config be changed?

They are responding, but it's literally only there as a quick start, and is currently being abused to a level that is off the charts.  If your company depends on our stun servers, make your own.

I have two servers in rotation and they both get 500-1000 requests per second.

No company here, I run tests for the macOS wiki update only 2-3 on a weekend, a couple of minutes each to bring Freeswitch up on the, run a couple of basic tests, then shutdown and update MacOS wiki. Not abusive on this end.
If it keeps up I can add code to the FreeSwitch installer to change vars.xml, but then that’s not good for someone doing their first manual installation. Help you find the abuser.

Thanks,
Mario G
