For macOS users and anyone interested: Nov 22 2020 is the tenth anniversary of when I put up the first complete install guide for macOS on the wiki, boy does that make me feel old. I realized this yesterday while doing my weekly FreeSwitch Development build/test for the macOS wiki.

I know some have found it useful since I've seen it referenced on the mailing list, some info like emailing voicemail may be useful to Linux users. I also tried helping with the Linux stuff but that didn't last.

FYI: I have not started testing on Big Sur because Homebrew has a ton of work left before all prerequisites are ready enough. In earlier days homebrew was good to go during macOS beta so I got an early start, but not this time. I already changed the macFI installer to handle it 11.0 if anyone wants to try. Once homebrew is ready (very soon I think) I will tackle Freeswitch on Big Sur.
As far as me testing on the M1, that will be some time since I don’t know if Freeswitch will build and run on ARM/M1 Xcode. Also, I am waiting for the M1 iMacs. If anyone tries I would like to know.

It's a great job. I'm on Big Sur now and FS works well. I even built a client/mod which can show video in opengl now, still working to hook the camera up. We tried to make a Mac client with QT but it was too slow I'm not happy with it.
