Hi Ex Vito,
the method you suggested me seems to work but after about 10-15 seconds
the call is transferred, Asterisk drops it and I get two warnings:
WARNING[10383]: chan_sip.c:1944 retrans_pkt: Maximum retries exceeded on
transmission 5baa5c10300b20797b26ec3420f08601 at 192.168.0.8 for seqno 102
(Critical Response)
WARNING[10383]: chan_sip.c:1968 retrans_pkt: Hanging up call
5baa5c10300b20797b26ec3420f08601 at 192.168.0.8 - no reply to our critical
packet.
How did you solve this problem?
Thank you.
Giorgio

I took a look at some wiki pages about the command you suggest but the
redirection seems to be possible with bridged calls only (for example
two calls to a conference room).

We do it with ringing channels... Essentially we have an app that
connects to AMI and monitors activity:
- Tracks channels (which, by config, are associated to extensions)
- It knows who is calling who
- Who is talking to who
- etc
It then is integrated with a destkop applet that allows the user
some actions over the calls, IDs your callers from within your
outlook contacts, etc.
When your phone rings the applet pops up and one can clicks
on a button, for example, to xfer the incoming call to another
extension -- this is done via AMI redirect.

made some tests with my SIP hard-phone but it is not possible to use *7,
# or the transfer button on the phone when calling. How can you
secretary (if you are so lucky to have one!) to transfer with her phone?

(see above -- we don't do it via phone actions, it's all via AMI)
