|
|
Hi all,
I read on serveral pages that chan_spy is not part of asterisk anymore
as on http://www.voip-info.org/wiki-Asterisk+cmd+ChanSpy on the bottom
of this page.
I have a testing server with debian-testing and debian packages for
asterisk installed. In the modules directory /usr/lib/asterisk/modules
is a app_chanspy.so already there. The currently installed version is
1.4.13.
So, it is usefull to use app_chanspy.so for an asterisk for a
callcenter? Which application does now the same for recording/spiing
channels from a third person?
Many thanks in advance.

Well, it is bundled in asterisk. If you pay more attention, it shows:
* As of october 19 2004, ChanSpy is not included in the standard
Asterisk distribution or the development CVS tree.
* As of March 22 2005 this bug was reopened and can be viewed at above link.
* On March 24 2005 ChanSpy was added into CVS HEAD
Btw, from my experience - use of chanspy often leads to asterisk
crash. There's a new implementation of it - by using audiohooks (
http://svn.digium.com/view/asterisk/team/file/audiohooks-1.4/ ),
however it's just being tested for 1.4, and probably will be available
only in 1.6.

Sorry, you are right. I just found a patch reintroducing chanspy a few
minutes ago.
Thanks for the hint and I will look at it.
Best regards.
