Quoting Philipp Kempgen <philipp.kempgen at amooma.de>:

Quote:

busy. Your estimated hold time is 2 hours and 15 minutes. Thank you
for your patience." ... MOH

More like:

"Thank you for calling 911. All of our representatives are currently busy. To
hear tips for for resuscitating yourself on the back of a chair press 1 or
visit our website at www.911selfhelp.com."

are: 1) the
prompts have to be generic to Asterisk. No "Welcome to so-and-so's
business"
unless the business is fake and the prompt is funny. 2) The prompt
may not be

there are
some things they just will not say.

How about:

I would suggest breaking that up

"Please enter the"
"digit"
"extension of the person you are trying to reach"

then you can use the individual numbers and fill in 2 digit, 3 digit, etc.

I'll open it to the floor now, with the caveat that since Digium is paying for
the recording session, it maintains final editorial approval over which sounds
are selected.

There are truckloads of nice suggestions for prompts in the famous
hitchhickerguide...

"This company is relocated to the end of the universe..."
Or some of the comments of Marvin (the paranoid android)

What would happen if you would dial extension 42....
